Alex Akers, LMT
Alex Akers, LMT (she/her)
Alex is a 2025 graduate of Irene’s Myomassology Institute who specializes in relaxation-focused massage with a calm, grounded approach.
She is dedicated to creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and deeply cared for from the moment they arrive.
As a new therapist, Alex brings fresh enthusiasm, attentive presence, and intentional, soothing touch to every session.
She believes in meeting each client exactly where they are and supporting them through gentle techniques that calm the nervous system, ease stress, and help restore balance.
Her sessions are designed to offer quiet, nurturing moments where clients can breathe, unwind, and reconnect with their bodies.
Alex has a strong foundation in anatomy, client boundaries, and relaxation modalities, and she is committed to continually expanding her “toolbox” through ongoing continuing education.
As she grows in her career, she looks forward to integrating new skills to better support clients experiencing the everyday tension and discomforts that life can bring.
Her mission is simple: to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental environment and a peaceful experience that helps clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.
Most recently Alex has received advanced training in Sport Massage and Prenatal Massage and is looking forward to TMJ Dysfunction training later in spring 2026.
Outside the treatment room, Alex enjoys traveling, strength training, creating art and photography, being outdoors and spending time with her fiancé and their five animals.
Currently Alex offers: Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Sport and Prenatal Massage. It’s wonderful to showcase Alex’s talent at Thrive Massage Ann Arbor and we hope you book a session soon to experience her work.
Alex is available Sundays, 11AM-6PM and Wednesdays, 1PM-8PM and Thursdays 12PM-7PM
